Statement of Intent

During this project, I will explore the different sub genres of documentary photography. I think that I’ll mainly work towards the categories that don’t include people, as photographing strangers isn’t something I really enjoy. The idea of human presence but without using people really interests me. For example, I’d like to photograph purposeful places without their purpose, such as car parks at night, ghostly spaces, railway tracks and abandoned buildings. I’d also like to document some journeys that I take and events that I find interesting. I want to include a wide variety of things so I can understand this way of working.
